Favorite Scenes: Prince Albert's Entrance

Recently, my dad and I have been watching the Victoria on Masterpiece.

O_O

Peoples, this is an amazing show! Have any you seen it? Tell me below.

Anywho, one of my favorite scenes so far is when Prince Albert and his brother enter into the picture. It's epic. I'm just going to add it here and then we can discuss it.

Okay, I'll try to tell you when there is a spoiler.

So in the beginning, we see Victoria and Lord Melbourne talking. She's painting Queen Elizabeth and had just finished saying that she wasn't going to marry, like Queen Elizabeth. She's saying that because *SPOILER* She thought she was in love with Lord Melbourne but he told her that he couldn't marry her, no matter his inclination.*END SPOILER* Lord Melbourne tells her that he doesn't think that life will suit her, and she agrees, but stating that she won't marry just to please him. Lord Melbourne agrees, she should marry to please herself.

That scene was just really sweet. Victoria thought that she was in love with Melbourne, he tells her no. After some time, they reconcile. And (am I the only one that thinks that Lord Melbourne does truly love Victoria but won't marry her because of their political standings??? I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE) he still knows that she must marry, no matter the cost of pain to him.

Then it switches and Victoria is playing the piano, a very moody piece if I do say so myself.

Oh?

What's that?

There are changing shots from Victoria to two young men coming in!

GUYS

SERIOUSLY

I REALLY LOVE THIS SCENE

*cough*

Then you see Albert and Ernest standing by Leopold. Albert is just watching Victoria, and then he goes to turn her page.

LEOPOLD'S FACE IS THE EPTOMINE OF "I TOLD YOU SO" RIGHT THERE.

The shock on Victoria's face is evident when she see's Albert.

AND THEN YOU HEAR THAT "GLORIANNA, HALLELUJAH".

Yep.

I'm bonkers.

Anyhow, tell me if you've seen this show, I WILL FANGIRL. And I love how she's like, "I don't want to marry a stupid boy like Albert!" And you're snickering behind your hand because you know she marries Alber xD

But yeah, remember to participate in my "Ask Me Anything", you have till November 4th.

Calling All Authors!

Hey! This is going to be a very short post. I just wanted to let all you authors out there about this!

(and what exactly is "this")

WILL YOU BE PATIENT.

JEEZ.

TEENAGERS THESE DAYS.

Anyhow, a friend of mine created a forum solely for the purpose of creative writing. You can post your story (or stories) on there and get feedback from other young writers! I hope you join! The link is right here: http://littlewritersofjesus.proboards.com/

Ask Me Anything! (Or just watch me flip out...)

But I'm giving you another terribly creative post.

Basically, my conscience saying, "YOU HAVE TO WRITE A POST THIS WEEK."

I have some more creative ones in the works, but I've been really busy this week. I have the ACT on Saturday, and my orthodontist offers a free prep course for it so I've been skipping dance to go to those, to come home, to practice violin, to do some more ACT prep, to finish that math, and then that religion, and then bio, OH YEAH, CAN'T FORGET THAT LATIN QUIZ. WHAT ABOUT THAT HISTORY PAPER???

(*sirens go off*)

FULL PANIC ATTACK MODE.

I REPEAT.

EVERYONE FREAK OUT.

Yeah, my life is a mess right now.

Saturday is going to be veeeeeeery stressful. I have to (like I said) take the ACT, and then go play the violin during this vocal competition thing. And then I have a big competition coming up next week.

Could y'all just pray for me? I would reeeaaally appreciate it.

But

Anywho

Yeah

This is awkward

(IT'S ONLY AWKWARD IF YOU MAKE IT)

Thank you Lina.

But in all due seriousness, ask me any questions you want to know about me in the comments below or through the contact me thingamajiggy in the sidebar. I guess the deadline for asking questions will be November 4th??

Yeah

Sorry for this hectic post. But, like I said, my conscience was probing me and I wanted to give y'all something.

Novena To St. Philomena {Day 9}

The last day of our last novena. If saying the novena to St. Dominic of St. Philomena has helped you in any way, please tell me below! I would love to hear your stories!

DAILY PRAYER
O faithful Virgin and glorious Martyr, St. Philomena, who works so many miracles on behalf of the poor and sorrowing, have pity on me. You know the multitude and diversity of my needs. Behold me at your feet, full of misery, but full of hope. I entreat your charity, O great saint! Graciously hear me and obtain from God a favorable answer to the request which I now humbly lay before you (here mention your petitions.) I am firmly convinced that through your merits, through the scorn, the sufferings and the death you endured, united to the merits of the Passion and death of Jesus, your Spouse, I shall obtain what I ask of you, and in the joy of my heart I will bless God, who is admirable in his Saints. Amen.

NINTH DAY
O dear St. Philomena, you encountered Christians who, due to terrible tortures, were unable to remain strong and renounce their faith temporarily, or who faced with physical pain, surrendered holy books to the Roman soldiers. You welcomed these
Christians and understand their weaknesses. You did not condemn them nor stay away from them. You continued to pray for them and with them. I pray, my dear saint, that you will also help me develop the spirit of understanding that will prevent me from condemning people. Inspire me always to work for unity and peace in our communities especially in our parishes. Amen.

Daily Prayer
Saint Philomena, Pray for us!

Novena To St. Philomena {Day 8}

Today is the 8th day!

Amen.

EIGHT DAY
O dear St. Philomena, you lived during the most terrible time of the Church, when Christians were hunted like animals. But like the first Christians, you found solace being with your brothers and sisters with whom you broke bread, sharing in the Eucharist in the catacombs. You received the Body and Blood of Jesus with devotion, knowing that he alone would be able to help you weather the persecutions. I implore you, my dear saint, to help me love the Eucharist, to receive Jesus daily through the Holy Communion. Bless also my brothers and sisters, especially the sick, who are unable to receive Jesus daily. May Jesus’ presence enable them to accept the sufferings they are passing through. Amen

Daily Prayer
Saint Philomena, Pray for us!

Novena To St. Philomena {Day 7}

Can you believe that we're almost done?!

Amen.

SEVENTH DAY
O St. Philomena, you received help from Jesus and special grace of perseverance when you were tortured and put to death. That special grace was the gift of courage. Your bold declaration to die for your faith is a proof that God will not abandon his children. At times, I doubt God’s place in my own life; in times of difficulties, I easily complain of his absence. Make me understand that God takes care of me, anticipates my needs and protects me from danger. Help me to trust God and put
myself entirely in his hands. Amen

Daily Prayer
Saint Philomena, Pray for us!

Poetry Wednesday: Prayer of a Soldier in France

Prayer of a Soldier in France

~*~

My shoulders ache beneath my pack
(Lie easier, Cross, upon His back).

I march with feet that burn and smart
(Tread, Holy Feet, upon my heart).

Men shout at me who may not speak
(They scourged Thy back and smote Thy cheek).

I may not lift a hand to clear
My eyes of salty drops that sear.

(Then shall my fickle soul forget
They Agony of Bloody Sweat?)

My rifle hand is stiff and numb
(From Thy pierced palm red rivers come).

Lord, Thou didst suffer more for me
Than all the hosts of land and sea.

So let me render back again
This millionth of Thy gift. Amen

Novena To St. Philomena {Days 5 & 6}

So I was very very very very busy yesterday! Sorry!

Amen.

FIFTH DAY
O Virgin and Martyr, St. Philomena, you made a vow of virginity and you stood by it till death offering your life to Jesus. Your purity was your perfection. I pray to you to help me in my struggle to be chaste and pure. This is a difficult thing to do now, with the influence of the media that tell us that sex, even outside of marriage, is good and recommendable. May your example inspire me and the young people especially to regard their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit. May I learn to clothe myself
modestly and simply so that I may lead people to live this virtue. Amen.

Daily Prayer

Saint Philomena, Pray for us

SIXTH DAY
O Virgin and Martyr, St. Philomena, you were patient in your endurance to all the sufferings and sacrifices. You did so because you viewed that all the glories of this world are pure vanity. You were not attached to anything or anyone. You have your eyes always set on eternity. Help us to live this virtue of detachment so that we may be ready to do anything that Jesus asks of us. Help us put distance to the happiness and successes of this life so that we may also learn to look forward to the happiness
of heaven. We ask you, dear saint, to help us develop a heart that is attached only to God. Amen

Daily Prayer
Saint Philomena, Pray for us!

Novena To St. Philomena {Days 3 & 4}

I meant to post day three yesterday, but I was sick all day with a fever. Thank goodness I'm feeling better now, and here is the third and fourth day :)

Amen.

THIRD DAY
O pure Virgin and holy Martyr, cast a look of pity from Heaven on your devoted servant, comfort me in affliction, assist me in danger, above all come to my aid in the hour of death. Watch over the interests of the Church of God, pray for its exaltation and prosperity, the extension of the faith, for the Pope, for the clergy, for the perseverance of the just, the conversion of sinners, and the relief of the souls in purgatory, especially those dear to me. O great saint, whose triumph we celebrate on earth, intercede for me, that I may one day behold the crown of glory bestowed on you in Heaven, and eternally praise him who so liberally rewards for all eternity the sufferings endured for his love during this short life. Amen.

Daily Prayer

Saint Philomena, Pray for us!

FOURTH DAY
O St. Philomena, Virgin and Martyr, whom God glorifies by so many miracles, whom the Vicar of Jesus Christ has named the Protectress of the living rosary and the children of Mary, manifest, more and more plainly from the heights of Heaven, that a voice holy as yours cannot be denied and that we have the right to rely upon your aid. Obtain for us the grace to be faithful to Jesus Christ, even to death. You became known by your miracles. May you intercede for me before the throne of God. Amen.

Daily Prayer
Saint Philomena, Pray for us!

Novena To St. Philomena {Day 2}

Today is the second day!

Amen.

SECOND DAY
O great St. Philomena, glorious Virgin and Martyr, wonder-worker of our age, obtain for me purity of body and soul, purity of heart and desire, purity of thought and affection. Through your patience under multiplied sufferings, obtain for me a submissive acceptance of all the afflictions it may please God to send me and as you did miraculously escape unhurt from the waters of the Tiber, into which you were cast by order of your persecutor, so may I pass through the waters of tribulation without detriment to my soul. Amen.

Daily Prayer
Saint Philomena, Pray for us!

Novena To St. Philomena {Day 1}

Now that our novena to St. Dominic has ended, it is time to start the one to St. Philomena! I hope you will benefit from this just as I will!

Amen.

FIRST DAY
Illustrious Virgin and Martyr, St. Philomena, behold me prostrate before the throne whereupon it has pleased the Most Holy Trinity to place you. Full of confidence in your protection, I entreat you to intercede for me with God, from the heights of Heaven deign to cast a glance upon your humble client! Spouse of Christ, sustain me in suffering, fortify me in temptation, protect me in the dangers surrounding me, and obtain for me the graces necessary to me. Above all, assist me at the hour of my death. St. Philomena, powerful with God, pray for us. Amen.

Daily Prayer
Saint Philomena, Pray for us!

Of Rising Authors {Tag}

YES. THIS ONE CAME TO ME LEGALLY.

I know, two tags in one week, but I'm TOO EXCITED TO WAIT :D

The lovely Indigo at Spaceships, Vampires, and Very Secret Agents tagged me for the "Of Rising Authors" tag!

Let's go!

Rules:

#1: No tagging back
#2: Tag Four People
#3: Thank The Person Who Tagged You

Well, thank you so very much, Indigo! Like I said somewhere before, it made my day!

1. What is the reason you write?

That's a deep question....

The reason I write is -
(because she has no friends are her characters are her friends)

Um... that might be a reason...hehe....

In all seriousness, I write because I simply love to. I love how I can do anything I want, and the characters really do become my best friends!

2. When did you write your first story? How old were you and what was it about? (Prepare to cringe, mwahaha.)

*sneaks out the back door*

*is grabbed by the collar*

(OH NO YOU DON'T! I'M NOT LETTING YOU ESCAPE ON A CHANCE TO HUMILIATE YOURSELF)

Jeez, thank's Lina

(Welcome)

*rolls eyes*

I think it was my story called: The Princess and the Pauper

I KNOW

I KNOW

DON'T GIVE ME THAT LOOK.

I think the title's pretty self-explanatory. I'm not going into more detail.

Nuh-uh

That's all you're going to get.

3. Do you have one particular word that, no matter how hard you try, you can't learn the spelling of? (Mine is "mischievieous" by the way. "Dissappear" also gave me a fair amount of grief.)

I think it's "appointment" or "business". There's another word but I can't remember it right now.

I will at midnight though....

4. Do you sometimes feel that your characters take on a life of their own and start doing whatever they want? (Not… not that that happens to me… no… *sobs quietly*)

Yeeeesss.

Definitely.

It's like, you're writing, and all of a sudden they say something that they weren't supposed to say or do something they aren't supposed to do and you're like, "NO. I'M IN CHARGE HERE." But you can't bring yourself to stop them!

5. Would you date one of your characters? (SORRY NOT SORRY)

Actually, yes :P

I would either date Jack Harris or Carrington (I forgot his last name at this moment, I HAVEN'T WORKED ON THE BOOK HE'S IN IN A WHILE, OKAY??)

OH

OH

OH

OR LEON CASTILLO FROM RIFTS. I WOULD TOTALLY DATE HIM. MOSTLY BECAUSE I IMAGINE HOM TO LOOK LIKE THIS:

I KNOW

6. Imagine you could pick four fictional characters to invite to a dinner party, who would they be and why would you invite them? (They don’t have to be book characters, they can be TV show or movie characters too.)

Only four?

(*chokes*)

I would invite Isi and Geric from the Books of Bayern, and Ella and Char from Ella Enchanted.

As to why, well, I really like Isi and Ella for their courage, and DO YOU REALLY EXPECT ME TO GET OUT OF A CHANCE TO SEE THEM TOGETHER WITH THEIR MALE COUNTERPARTS?? (not to mention meet them myself...)

7. If you could only read books of ONE genre for the rest of your life, what genre would that be?

Um, it would be fantasy. Because my favorite books (The Books of Bayern, LotR, Ella Enchanted, etc.) are considered (at least by myself) to be in that genre.

8. What would happen if you switched places with your MC? Or if your MC switched places with you, and had to live in your world? Explain.

O_O

It would be mass destruction.

Since I have so many stories, I'm just going to pick Awyeria from The Crown of Light to trade places with.

If Awyeria changed places with me, she would probably be over the top about everything. I mean, she's been training her whole life to save her country from evil people, she would destroy your iPhone before you could say, "Child of light."

If I was in her place, there would just be epic failure. She's probably the toughest character I have with the most responsibilities. I wouldn't do well in her place.....

9. Do you sometimes come up with perfect characters, a perfect fictional world, and a perfect subplot, but you have no actual story to put them in? (I can’t be the only one….)

Yes.

And I really hate it.

A lot.

10. Are you sick of answering questions by now? (Come on, be honest.)

Actually, no! I had a lot of fun answering these! Thank you again, Indigo!!

Now, my ten questions for those who are to be tagged are:

1: What is your "go-to" song for writing?

2: Have you ever struggled with creating a character too similar to one of your favorite characters? (Definitely never happened with Geric or Char....defenitly...*sniff*)

3: What is the weirdest thing someone has said to you about your writing?

4: What is one of your MC's flaws? (I gave one of mine a fear of spiders. Scratch that, two of mine have it :P)

5:  What is your least favorite genre to write in?

6: What was the worst thing you ever wrote?

7: Do you like writing non-fiction?

8: What was the most awkward scene you've ever written? (mine was a proposal scene...let's not go into that...)

9: On a scale from one to ten (I am perfect like I am!) (IGNORE THAT. A SONG GOT STUCK IN MY HEAD) how often do you end up writing more than 3 chapters of the stories you start?

10: How many people do you let read your stories?

And I tag...

Joy at The Pen Or The Sword?

Mary Katherine at Sarcastic Scribblings

Jem at Jem Jones, Writer

and

MovieCritic at Movies Meet Their Match

I hope y'all have fun with it :D

And if anyone else wants to steal this, then you have my permission.

Novena to St. Dominic of the Rosary {Day 9}

Today is the last day of our novena to St. Dominic of the Rosary. I hope that it has impacted you in some way. Remember, we're going to continue on with a novena to St. Philomena starting tomorrow!

Ninth Day: Devotion to St. Dominic

This is the covenant with them which I myself have made, says the Lord: and my words that I have put into your mouth shall never leave your mouth, nor the mouths of your children, nor the mouths of your children’s children, from now on and forever, says the Lord. (Isaiah 59:21)
As St. Dominic lay dying just outside of Bologna at St. Mary of the Hills, he requested to be taken back at once to Bologna that he might be buried “under the feet of my brethren.” There, having assured his spiritual children that he would be of greater assistance where he was going, he left them his last will and testament: “Behold, my children, the heritage I leave you: have charity for one another, guard humility, make your treasure out of voluntary poverty.”
Be therefore followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:1)
O wondrous hope that you did give at the hour of death to those who mourned you, when you did promise to help them even after death.
Father, keep your word, and aid us by your prayers.
You who did shine by so many signs in the bodies of the afflicted, bear us the help of Christ and heal our souls in illness and unrest.
Father, keep your word, and aid us by your prayers.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
Father, keep your word, and aid us by your prayers.
Pray for us, blessed father, St. Dominic, That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray, O God, who enlightened your Church by the merits and teachings of blessed Dominic, your confessor and our father, grant through his intercession that it may never be destitute of temporal help, and may always increase in spiritual growth. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Novena To St. Dominic of the Rosary {Day 8}

Only two days left of this novena!

Eighth Day: The Death of St. Dominic

Well done, good and faithful servant; because you have been faithful over a few things, I will place you over many. Enter into the joy of the Lord.        (Matthew 25:2)
St. Dominic died at Bologna, August 6, 1221, at midday. Father Ventura, prior of Bologna, was present and thus describes the death of St. Dominic. “Father Dominic returned from Venice about the end of July. Although very weary with traveling, he conversed on the affairs of the Order with me till late. I begged him to rest that night, but he prayed in the Church till Matins at midnight, and then was present in choir. Afterwards he complained of his head, and his last illness began. Lying on a straw mattress, he called the novices around him and exhorted them to fervor with cheerful words and smiling countenance. After being carried to a hill not far off, for better air, he preached to his brethren and was then anointed. Fearing that he would not be buried ‘under the feet of his brethren,’ he was carried back to the convent. The brethren recited prayers for a departing soul. When they came to the words, ‘Come to his help, ye saints of God; hasten to meet him, ye angels of the Lord: receive his soul, and offer it in the sight of the Most High,’ having lifted his hands to Heaven, he gave up his spirit.”
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered the heart of man to conceive what God has prepared for those who love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
Pray for us, blessed father, St. Dominic, That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray, O most kind father, St. Dominic, by your saintly life and death, bless and guide us in the path of your holy rule, that persevering until death, we may, through it, attain the eternal joys of heaven. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Novena To St. Dominic of the Rosary {Day 7}

Can you believe that we've been doing this for a week! Today is the seventh day of this beautiful novena!

Seventh Day: Love of God and Our Neighbor

That we have passed from death to life we know because we love the brothers. The man who does not love is among the living dead. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that eternal life abides in no murderer’s heart. The way we came to understand love was that he laid down his life for us; we too must lay down our lives for our brothers. (1 John 3:14-16)
Love is the fulfilling of the law, and Dominic, the preacher of God’s law, was consumed with the fire of love. In all his actions his love for God appeared and his constant prayer was that he might have true charity and love God purely for his own sake. From this love sprang that ardent desire to suffer for God which made him a martyr in spirit. So deeply was he moved by the love of Jesus Crucified that he longed to die for him. His life of generous self-sacrifice proved his love sincere. As a youth he sold his only treasure, the books from which he studied, to feed the poor. His life was entirely devoted to the hardest apostolic labor, traveling far and wide to seek the lost sheep of the Good Shepherd and braving every kind of danger. His prayers for souls were continual, and daily he did penance for sinners. The one object of his Order was the salvation of souls. Throughout his life he preached to the heathen hoping for martyrdom. He had compassion for the suffering and misery of others. To all he was gentle, kind and merciful.
The true love of God is proved by the desire to be like Christ, and to labor and suffer for others.
Beloved, let us love one another because love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten of God and has knowledge of God. The man without love knows nothing of God, for God is love. (1 John 4:7-8)
Pray for us, blessed father, St. Dominic, That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray, O Holy Father St. Dominic, who showed us the way to eternal happiness, and won many souls to God by founding the Order of Friars Preachers, pray for us, that we may follow in your footsteps, and ever work for the glory of God and the salvation of souls. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

I DIDN'T DO IT {A Stolen Tag}

So I maaaay have stolen something.

Hehe....

*knock on door*

*gets up and runs to the door*

Phew, it wasn't the police.

Okay, yeah, I didn't really steal anything important just a tag from Ivie at Ivie Writes. I stole the Evil Author tag. (You can find Ivie's post here)

NOW LET'S DO THIS

There are a few rules.

#1: Give all credit to the overlord and creator of the tag, Kate
#2: Give some credit to the one who tagged you. Well, as we have stated above, I stole this from Ivie. BUT SHE SORTA GAVE ME PERMISSION. So, thanks Ivie for giving me permission to steal your tag :D
#3: Tag at least Two people. I'm going to tag Em McKinnon from Maidens For Mary and Farm Lassie from The Rebelling Muse. Hope y'all have fun with this! Now, let me go answer these questions myself.

1. How many characters do you typically kill per book? And how many people have you killed in real life, dear? Do you… feel any remorse about this? I’m concerned about you.

The number of people dead in my stories vary from story to story. Sometimes I'll kill a bunch, and then sometimes I'll feel nice and not kill anyone. As for in real life, I've killed my brother multiple times, but he just keeps reviving. I wonder how he does it.....

2. Do you prefer to use weapons of mass destruction like explosions and famine and world war or more personal torture like killing family and friends and pets?

More personal all the way. The more heartbreaking the better. Although sometimes I do throw in a war or two, but make sure that someone has an emotional death.

3. Are you more like Loki, who perpetrates great evil with a creepy grin, or… give me a minute… Darth Vader, who secretly weeps inside his… fake head, whilst destroying the world?

Em....I guess the latter? I don't really like killing people, but do so for the shock value.

4. What is the most dastardly crime you have ever committed as a writer?

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhh................I killed a characters son, had his wife go mad and break my MC's younger daughters leg, killed the wife (not the MC), and then made her (the MC's) husband go missing in the space of a few weeks. I also made a character's brother turn against her.

5. What kind of chocolate do you most like to devour as you burn things? White, milk, semisweet, or dark? Bonus points if you are so evil you find unsweetened cacao palatable!

I like dark, semisweet, and milk chocolate.

6. What is your villainous title? You may not have “Evil Overlord” because that one’s mine.

Um, I'll take Dark Lady of the Sith. :D :D :D
(what are you doing putting smiley faces after naming your evil name! We need to work on your evil skills!)
Obviously, Lina's a lot more evil than I.

7. Which of your characters would actually be a match for you if you were to duke it out one on one?

Let me think a minute.....

(*hold music plays*)

Okay, back. I would have to say a character named Ellie, because she plays the violin (although much better than I) and we're both sarcastic. BATTLE OF THE WITS.

8. Which character, in all the many books you have undoubtedly written, is most likely to be your Archnemesis?

Probably a traitor Rilban. Because he is a BACKSTABBING LITTLE TRAITOR.

9. Do you wear a cape? Face paint? A mask? Special underpants? Or do you hide in plain sight… like Moriarty? Give me details!

I'm like Moriarty. Hidden in plain sight.

10. How do you react when you have to kill off a character that is dear to you? Do you laugh evilly out loud? Do you chuckle under your breath and quickly glance around for your next victim? Do you go and weep in a corner for a month because you just lost a best friend? Or do you just shrug indifferently?

I actually cry. I love my characters. And I love my characters friends and family. But, again, it's for the shock value.

11. If you had to choose a fictional villain (from book, movies, etc.) to sum up your villainous style as an evil writer, who would it be? Why?

I would have to say Selia from the Goose Girl. Because you think I'm good. Then you know I'm evil, but I can convince you to be calm until BAM, I just killed your favorite character.

12. Do you believe in killing off main characters, or are they your smol precious babies whom you cannot even fathom laying a hand (or steel-tipped ax) upon? (#wimpyevilwriter)

I COULD NOT KILL A MAIN CHARACTER. I CAN KILL THEIR CHILDREN, BEST FRIENDS, BUT NOT THEM.

13. Have you ever chickened out of your evilness and tried to resurrect a fallen character whom you have already brutally murdered? Or do you–as they say–let the sleeping skeleton lie?

Yeeees. It hasn't happened yet, but I was going to kill my MC, but chickened out :P

14. When murdering a character, do you often describe it in cringe-worthy detail, or do you prefer to say “SPLAT! He’s dead”, and be done with it? (Bonus Question: have you ever actually said “SPLAT! He’s dead” in one of your writing projects?)

I haven't described a death in much detail.....yet. And I have never said that.

Welp, it turns out that I'm not that evil (rats) HEY. I hope the two people that I tagged will have fun with this, and may you be eviler than I am!

Novena To St. Dominic of the Rosary {Day 6}

Today is the sixth day.

Sixth Day: Devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and the Mother of God

How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul yearns and pines for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest in which she puts her young by your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God!   (Psalms 84:2-4)
The Eucharist and the Mother of God were objects of Dominic’s special devotion. Before the tabernacle he spent his nights, finding there rest after his labors; and arriving weary and foot sore from a journey, he always visited the Blessed Sacrament before refreshing his body. However much fatigued, he always celebrated Mass, and if possible sang it. During the celebration of Mass tears were often seen flowing down his face, moving all to devotion.
Of God’s Mother he was always an ardent and reverent lover. His life, his work, his Order were placed under her protection, and he invoked her in every difficulty and danger. He began the custom of saying the Hail Mary before preaching. The Blessed Mother filled him with heavenly favors, watched over him with motherly care, and gave him the habit of his Order. A tradition cherished in his Order, and supported by the testimonies of many popes, ascribes to him the first teaching of devotion to the recitation of the Rosary. His disciples were called “Friars of Mary,” and have carried her Rosary and scapular to the uttermost parts of the earth.
I myself am the bread of life. No one who comes to me shall ever be hungry, and no one who believes in me shall ever thirst. (John 6:35)
I am the mother of fair love, and of fear, and of knowledge, and of holy hope. In me is all grace of the way and of the truth, in me is all hope of life and of virtue. Come to me, all you that desire me, and be filled with my goodness. (Sirach 24: 18; John 14:6)
Pray for us, blessed father, St. Dominic, That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray, O most blessed father, St. Dominic, who loved our Lord Jesus Christ in the most perfect manner and served Mary, His Virgin Mother, with most fervent devotion, pray for us, your children, that we may ever grow in love of the Sacrament of the Altar, and that, next to God, we may at all times trust in the protection of the Queen of Heaven, so that at the hour of death we may be received by her into heaven, and ever abide under the mantle of her love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Novena To St. Dominic of the Rosary {Day 5}

Today is the fifth day of the novena to St. Dominic.

Fifth Day: The Spirit of Prayer

True devotion was in his mouth, and no dishonesty was found upon his lips; he walked with me in integrity and in uprightness, and turned many away from evil. (Malachi 2:6)
As an unbridled tongue destroys a spirit of prayer, Dominic loved silence and retirement, that he might dwell with God. His intimate friend, William of Montserrat, said that “Dominic always kept the silence prescribed by the custom and rule of the Order, abstained from idle words, and always spoke either of God or to God.”
Dominic considered custody of the senses important and fed his soul constantly with spiritual reading. His books were the Bible and Cassian’s Conferences of the Fathers of the Desert. The Holy Scriptures he always carried, and ordered his spiritual children diligently and unceasingly to read them. At dinner one religious used to read aloud, that the souls of all might be fed on the Word of God.
If any man offends not in words, the same is a perfect man. (James 3:2)
Pray for us, blessed father, St. Dominic, That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray, O most Holy Father St. Dominic, who always showed yourself loving to all and never despised, wounded or offended anyone, obtain for me from our Savior, the grace to be severe only to myself and my evil passions and always gentle and loving toward my neighbor, ever like him, pardoning all who injure or offend me. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Novena To St. Dominic of the Rosary {Day 4}

Today is the fourth day.

Fourth Day: St. Dominic’s Prayer

Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and inspired songs. Sing praise to the Lord with all your hearts. Give thanks to God the Father always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5:18-20)
Prayer was the breath of St. Dominic’s life, the light on his path, the staff on his pilgrimage. He prayed always. In childhood his delight was to serve Mass, to visit the Blessed Sacrament, and to chant Office. As a student, he learned wisdom more from prayer than from books. He won more souls by prayer than by preaching or miracles. In traveling, St. Dominic prayed as he went, sometimes the Veni Creator Spiritus, or the Ave Maris Stella, or sometimes he recited psalms. He often reminded his companions to think of God. Many times St. Dominic spent the night in prayer before the altar. His methods of prayer were various: sometimes he lay prostrate, then stood erect, then knelt down. For hours he would stand before a crucifix, genuflecting and making fervent ejaculations. Often he stretched out his arms like a cross, pleading earnestly to God. On occasion he was seen in rapture by the vehemence of his prayer. “In all labors and trials, in hunger, thirst, fatigue, his heart turned always to God.”
Pray for us, blessed father, St. Dominic, That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray, O God, who enlightened your Church by the virtues and preaching of St. Dominic, your confessor and our father, mercifully grant that by his prayers we may be delivered from present dangers and ever increase in spiritual blessings. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
