SOS HELP HELP HELP

I REALLY NEED HELP

(yeah, mental help)

NOT YET LINA

NOT YET

So I decided to make a cover for Courage For Those Who Have None, but I wanted to make a really good cover. Not a quick one. So I spent all afternoon looking up graphic design and book cover making sites. I finally downloaded a program and made it my mission to learn how to cut an image out.

My.

Goodness.

The program crashed once (because my computer never has any storage space) but I FINALLY figured out how to cut a picture out.

Here's the result:

Now I wanted to get like a layered look, but THAT WAS EVEN MORE STRESSFUL

WHY WON'T IT BE EVEN

LIKE WHY WON'T IT SHOW LIKE I WANT LET MY JUST TRY USING THE ORIGINAL ONE BUT THAT PROBS WON'T WORK oh look it did.......................................................

......................

................................

..........................................

#overthinker

I made the same image twice but with different backgrounds

So right now (to yourself) say which one you like better. To be honest, at this point, I was almost 100% sold on the first one but was like, "Why not make mock-ups for both of them? It's probably going to be the first one."

THAT WAS A MISTAKE

BECAUSE

LOOK

I LIKE THEM BOTH WAY TOO MUCH

SO I NEED YOUR HELP TO DECIDE WHICH ONE

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

(I have another post in the works - this was unscheduled - that should, SHOULD, be out on Wednesday)

COLM

Guys, I am sooooooooo excited about this book! I think (think being the key word) that it is going to be really good! Now, let's introduce it!

Cover:

Blurb: (even though it is on the back cover but oh well) (I'll give you the longer blurb as a treat cause I wove y'all :D)

Colm McNulty is fine with the life he has, roaming the land, playing his fiddle, and looking into Rose Kelly's eyes. But his abusive father doesn't feel that way. He forces Colm to America, making him leave everything dear to him behind.
In America, Colm faces hardship and prejudice. When the riots against the Irish workers in New York grow, Colm disappears to the farms in Maine. Even in a rural town, there are still prejudices. Only one farmer offers Colm a job, Brendan Elson. Colm soon finds out that there are a lot of Elson children, and finds himself attracted to the middle girl, Felicity. Felicity has fire in her blood and Colm wonders if he will ever prove himself to her, and everyone else.

Fun, no?

Genre: Historical Fiction

Time Period: Second Industrial Revolution/End of the 19th century (1891-1896 are the exact years)

Setting: 50 miles north of Dublin; New York; Murray (fictional town) Maine

Characters:

So Colm is the MC and everything is in his perspective. This is actually going to be something new for me because I tend to switch POV's.

OH

I FOUND COLM YESTERDAY

I was scrolling for pictures that I did not need for the cover when I found THIS and was like "COLMMMMM"

PRESENTING!

COLM

I AM TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH MY OWN CHARACTER ALRIGHT???

*thinks what else she can say without giving everything away*

YOU KNOW WHAT

LET'S INTRODUCE ANOTHER BOOK OKAY?

So for this one, I've been mostly world-building. And I think I have you give you guys some background info before we continue.

So I've mentioned The Crown of Light and Courage For Those Who Have None. Turns out, they're in a series. WHO KNEW RIGHT??

(ugh *facepalm*)

No judging, Lina.

Anywho, the names of the books in the series are

1. The Scroll of Wisdom
2. Courage For Those Who Have None
3. The Crown of Light
4. To Those Who Are Faithful
5.  Finding Honor

You don't actually have read them in order (except for The Crown of Light and To Those Who Are Faithful, you have to read those two in order). They mostly give background info on each other.

Anywho

The one I'm introducing today is The Scroll of Wisdom. This is about how Ilia Coragis became Myragi and Zirrith.

(like I said, I have basically no plotting done for this because I've been worlding building)

HOLD ON

HOLD YOUR HORSES

THERE'S ONE MORE THING I NEED TO EXPLAIN OR ELSE THERE WILL BE SOME CONFUZZLED PEOPLES

Okay *coughs* so, there were originally 5 kingdoms: Ilia Scriptura, Ilia Corona (previously known as Qiliopie-Doijsu), Ilia Fidelitis, Ilia Coragis, and Ilia Honoribus. They each have one magical item.

Ilia Scriptura = The Scroll of Wisdom
Ilia Corona = The Crown of Light
Ilia Fidelitis = The Ring of Faith
Ilia Coragis = The Courage Stone
Ilia Honoribus = The Key of Honor

NOW WE CAN GO ON

Blurb:

Prince Kile of Ilia Scriptura knows that he won't be king, that boring job is left to his older brother. He leads a life of frivolity. But when his brother can't read the Scroll of Wisdom, and he can, everything changes. Suddenly, Kile is expected to sit in councils and be responsible. When he accidentally stops Ilia Fidelitis from plunging into a civil war, Ilia Coragis asks for his help. But they have a different type of unrest.

Characters:

Yeah

I can't tell you much about these characters yet.

And here's a snippet from Courage for Those Who Have None

We walked quickly through the halls, my green dress swishing around my ankles. I was nervous. The only times I ever saw Miles was at dinner, and even then there were always several people between us. Did he think me a coward and dull like other people did? Once we neared the garden where Miles was, I grew so nervous that I stepped on my hem, dropping my pencils and paper.
I crouched to pick up my dropped items, and one could imagine my surprise when a hand handed me a stack of papers. Looking up, I saw Miles’s blue eyes staring into mine. I blushed and took the papers from.
“So Caity,” Jules said, “How do you want us posed?”
“However you want,” I mumbled, looking down.
“Maybe something with our swords?” Miles suggested.
I looked at Jules, my eyes begging him to say no. Jules nodded to me.
“Why don’t we have Caittriona sketch us playing a game of chess?” Jules said.
Miles grinned and nodded. A servant came with a chess board. The boys placed it on the grass and sat down. I began drawing.
Miles and Jules had a fun conversation. They were both of merry disposition, and enjoyed making jokes and laughing at them. At first, I tried to hide my smile. Then I smiled. A laugh followed the smile, and soon I was part of the conversation.

We were talking merrily – my drawing being long done – when two people strolled into the garden. I froze, but the boys continued on. It was Mother and Father. I looked down, pretending to put some finishing touches on my drawing. Then I mumbled something about there being a draft, and took off towards the castle.
