A Tale of Two Friends: Ariella's Perspective

So, my best friend and I started this story over a year ago. I finished the rough draft of this, but it's all on paper. The story is basically about the lives of two friends, and my friend and I each chose a friend. Hope you enjoy it!

A Tale of Two Friends: Ariella's Perspective

Prologue

If you travel a long, long way into the south of the Dakota Territory, you will find a small, flourishing town. And the name of this town is Cedarville. It is a small, sleepy town. Not much excitement happens there. The most exciting thing that has happened in ten years is bandits.
Although it is a small town, it does not lack style. The most prominent man in this town is named William Lisson. This being said, he is not a snobby man. No, he and his wife, Alice, are fine, generous people.
But not all people are this prosperous. David Whitney’s farm has been hit with several misfortunes. Although it is nothing too grave, they cannot afford the luxuries that other families have.
The births of two small girls helped make this small sleepy town exciting. But this story is about one of those two, and her name is Ariella Seraphina Whitney.
Sooooooo.....whadaya think? Please tell me! Thanks!

Short Stories #2: Trek to Stardom

First off, I want to wish all the mothers out there a wonderful mothers day. As to the story, this one's kinda silly.....but here goes nothing!

Prompt #2: Trek to Stardom

Perhaps it was only a dream, she thought. Perhaps of she pinched herself, she would wake up. But she didn't want to wake up. She wanted to stay in this dream world where (here is where the prompt ends) there were no screaming roosters at odd hours.
But if this was a dream, Lacey wanted it to be over with so she wouldn't be disappointed when she went back to reality. Lacey closed her eyes and pinched herself -- hard.
She opened her eyes and she was still standing in front of the recording studio, where she would be recording her first song.
She still couldn't believe she won the contest that allowed her to record her first song. And if the public liked it, she would most likely become very famous.
Lacey took a deep breath, picked up her guitar, and walked into the studio. In the hallway, she almost collided with Vanessa Madison.
"Hey," she said, "You're Lacey Jacobs? I heard you're song. I actually came to hear you. I know how hard the first time is."
Lacey just nodded her head. Vanessa Madison was her favorite celebrity.
"Th-Thanks," Lacey replied, "And, you are my favorite celebrity. You're so beautiful and-and awesome."
"Aw," Vanessa said, "That's so sweet. Do you want to grab some lunch afterwards? I have a feeling that if everything goes well with your recording, we're going to be seeing a lot more of each other."
     Lacey nodded again.
When she entered the recording room, nervousness began building up inside her.
She looked at Vanessa's encouraging face and it all left her. It's nice having friends when you are all by yourelf.
 The End

Eek, Thoughts? Criticisms? Applause (just kidding XD)? Just let me knoow below! Thanks!

Be A Rebel, #1; What A Rebel Is

Image result for teenager listening to music while sitting outside     It's a typical stereotype. The teenager is in a "rebellious" stage. You see it on the TV often enough. The teenager is obsessed with their phone and thinks he knows better than his parents. The kid is disrespectful towards his parents and teachers, and, as said before, is glued to his screen.

And yet, every parent is told that their teen will "Go through that stage". As a teenage girl myself, I find that stereotype demeaning and just not true. I'm not glued to my phone (I don't have one), I try and give my parents all the respect in the world, and I definitely am not going through what our culture calls "A rebellious stage".

But, in a way, I do want to rebel. I want to rebel against the standards our culture has set for me. I don't want to be like every other teenage girl who can't get over the latest teen sensation. I don't want to be glued to a screen and not notice God's beautiful world. I don't want a boyfriend. And I certainly don't want to rebel against my parents.

So, is it me, or do is our world telling us to rebel against the wrong things? And why are so many teens going along with it? Why don't we show the world that not all teenagers are self-centered emo's that don't care about anything except for themselves?

And that, my dear friends, is what a rebel is. We need to break through the standards. We need to show the world that we care!

But, if you're still noot sure what in the world I'm talking about, I will give you a great example.

     Rachel Joy Scott.

She is the perfect example of a rebel. She didn't care if she was the standout, she was confident in her faith and not afraid to share it. She wanted to rebel against the modern culture.

     Her most popular quote is:

Wow. Inspiring huh? That is what a rebel is. To rebel against the modern culture, and start a chain reaction of compassion.

And so, my friends, will you accept Rachel's challenge? Will you be a rebel? I hope so.

13 Reasons Why . . . You Should Read When Calls the Heart

This is literally one of my favorite books. The TV series is pretty popular, but I don't think quite enough attention goes to the book itself. So, without further ado, here are

13 Reasons Why You Should Read When Calls the Heart

Image result for when calls the heart books

     1) Wynn and Elizabeth
Their relationship progress very well towards the end of the book. (*SPOILER COMING UP*) I just wish that Elizabeth had found out the Lydia wasn't Wynn's wife a little earlier. Or that there was a bit more after the train scene.

    2)  The mounties

      Need I say more?

  3) WYNN
Basically the same reason for the mounties. But, there's just something about WYNN that makes you - ugh, it's hard to explain. You kinda need to read the book to understand it. Wynn is just so strong, tall, . . . handsome . . . If I were to say one reason for reading this book, I would say: WYNN.

Now go read the book. Just kidding, finish reading this first.

  4) It's really good historical fiction
Janette Oke just transports you back in time. And you can just picture everything in your mind! But more on this later . . .

    5) Elizabeth's progress
At the beginning of the book, she's a city girl. But by the end, she can do A LOT more on her own. True, she hasn't got it all down, but there is noticeable progress

   6) Else and Lars
They're just so cute! Else is just a dear, and Lars - Lars is just perfect.

  7) It has religion very well integrated into it
Elizabeth prays a lot, and there's also a lesson about guilty consciences (*thinks about ankles and what I just said*) (*starts laughing*) IT'S AN INSIDE JOKE. YOU'LL GET IT ONCE YOU READ THE BOOK.

   8) It's VERY well written
As I was saying before, Oke just transports you back into those times. You can see Wynn in his red serge jacket (*sighs dreamily*). Elizabeth almost burning down the schoolhouse (*chokes on laughter*) And how the residents of Pine Springs  (I almost wrote Pine Valley, WRONG WCTH)

  9) Kathleen
Sorta the same with Else, you just want to SQUEEZE her to death.

 10) The Box Social Scene
Just to see what Elizabeth's thinking while Wynn is bidding for her box is priceless (this makes a lot more sense when you read the book)

  11) The Bear Scene
BECAUSE IT'S WHERE THEY . . .  I WON'T SPOIL IT FOR YOU AS MUCH AS IT KILLS ME

  12) The Scene Where Elizabeth Leaves
I CAN'T SAY WHY EITHER (I'm just going to spoil a small part, she doesn't actually leave BUT I WON'T SAY WHY!!!)

 13) Elizabeth's fight with the mice
It's just funny watching her try and get rid of the mice XD

Now that I gave you 13 Reasons Why You Should Read When Calls the Heart, go read it! Once you do, tell me what you think of it! And those who have read it, tell me if you agree with my reasons or if I should add/change some.

(I also realize that the indention is all over the place, so please forgive me for this :P)
