~January Wrap-Up~

It's the end of January??

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?????

But yeah, I thought it would be fun to do wrap up posts at the end of each month so, let's dive in.

Not literally...

LIFE

SCHOOL-WISE

Life has been crazy this month. We got back from Mexico on the 9th and it was a dive in straight back to school after that. Ugh, turning stuff in to get my 1st-semester grade, my mom giving me the, "YOU HAVE A 4.0 GPA ALREADY, DON'T MESS IT UP," look all the time, yeeep fun times.

But, on the bright side, the 1st-semester grades I have gotten (History and Biology) have been A's, so I just need to get on Religion, Latin, and Geometry.

VIOLIN-WISE

Violin has also been pretty good! Today is our first orchestra rehearsal of the semester and I'm principal second violin!! I love orchestra soooo much!

I'm also preparing for a competition so a lot of memorizing going on.

AT LEAST IT ISN'T BACH

BACH IS THE WORST TO MEMORIZE

DANCE-WISE

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII GOT ON POINTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I'm going this Saturday to get my pointe shoes fitted so I'm psyched about that! We also found out what recital is going to be! And, the funny thing is, that it's the same one that we did the first year I did with this teacher! Since I'm on pointe, I'll have a pointe dance which I'm soooo excited for! Another of our dances is a mazurka, and that is also tooons of fun!

WRITING

Okay

I had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many stories that I was working on, so I narrowed it down to three with maybe a chapter here or there on another story

ON PAPER

The Girl Who Learned to Love

So I randomly choose them and wasn't as excited that I got this one. It was a new idea an one that I wasn't so invested in, but, that has changed. I LOVE THIS STORY SOOO MUCH. Maybe I'll do a post on it, but yeah, I've been enjoying this more and more as I find out more about the characters.

ON THE COMPUTER

The Moon

Again, wasn't too excited to have picked this one, but I think I'll enjoy it as I work more on it. I had already started this one, but instead of picking it up where I had left off, I'm just plain ol' redoing it. The plot is still the same with a tweak here or there, but I'm still plotting it. But, I have gotten more excited as I've been plotting it more

EDITING

A Tale of Two Friends: Ariella's Perspective

Aaah, the first book I ever finished

THE BEGINNING IS HORRIBLE

It's going to need some serious editing, but I forgot how much I loved those characters.

READING

I'm doing the Goodreads Reading Challange, and my goal is to read 50 books I have never read before. That means re-reads don't count. The books I read were (in order of reading them).....

But yeah, apparently I'm ahead of schedule having read 7 books this month. AND THEY WERE ALL AWESOME

How was your January?

Why We March: Lindsay

Lindsay is a junior with Mother of Divine Grace.

The moment a woman conceives a child in her womb, that child is alive. He/she is a human being that God has created to serve a purpose in life. Due to abortion, that child will never know what that purpose was. The children that these people are killing could have been saints. They could have been AMAZING people that were going to change the world, but their mothers decided that they don't get to even see light. That is cruel, heartless, and terrible beyond explanation. We are simple humans, and we barely know anything, but some of us apparently think we can choose when a child's life is going to end. This is wrong. It is SO wrong. No one but God has the ability to take someone from this world. I learned that children who are unborn or die close to birth and haven't had the chance to be baptized don't even go to heaven, but go somewhere on the edge of it called Limbo. These children don't even get to see God after this terrible thing happens. The poor children! Abortion is a violent action that cannot be justified. People say babies aren't people until they're born. What makes them any less human than the rest of us? They grow and form, just like we do, so that they can come into the world and serve their purpose. They are not there for you to decide whether they get to live a life or not. Abortion is such a horrible choice to make in life and we need to fight against the people that think it's okay. I march to stomp their evil thoughts into nothing. Life is precious and we need to treat it as such.

Why We March: Rebecca

Rebecca is a senior with Mother of Divine Grace.

But, I march to save our future generation and to protect those innocent lives shattered by abortion. I march to not only save the helpless babies but the mothers as well, because a lot of them undergo depression, heartache and emotional and physical pain after the horrors of abortion. Another reason why I march is to show the world that all life is precious from the moment of conception to natural death.

As J.R.R. Tolkien says, "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future."

Why We March: Joy

Joy is a sophomore with Mother of Divine Grace.

I am pro-life for two reasons. One, abortion itself in general is wrong. Two, I can personally relate because I'm adopted.
Abortion is wrong on so many levels. The person who has an abortion is pretty much murdering their child whether they know it or not. You would be lying if you denied that there is an actual human being in the mother's womb and if you believe in the lie that it is only a blob of tissue, then let me ask this question. How does this so called, “blob of tissue” transform into a baby when it is born? How does it receive the gift of life?
I was born in China during the time that the government restricted the amount of children a family could have. Several days after I was born, I was found on the steps of an orphanage. My parents most likely left me because they didn't have enough money to care for me and if they did happen to have another child, having me would've been breaking the law. Breaking this law of having more than one child has serious consequences so my birth mom risked a lot just to be pregnant with me and give birth. I cannot express how grateful I am to my birth parents for choosing life. I have a loving family and some of the most amazing friends who I just love with all of my heart.

These are my reasons for being pro-life and I'm proud of it.

Why We March: Eric

Eric is a senior with Mother of Divine Grace.

I march for the poor MURDERED human beings who cannot defend their lives, but are preyed upon without any say in the matter. Precautions, especially in our day and age, can be taken to not have children, and if you are going to slaughter your innocent child then you should take them. If someone shoots another person, people react in horror and shock, demanding justice to be done to this person, this killer. Murder carries a heavy sentence. Life in prison. The rest of your life to be spent in custody in a penitentiary. This is dealt out many times a year (about 15 thousand times in the U.S.). But how many more times more are children aborted? 652,639!!! And since 1970, there are more than 44,498,750 babies killed. FORTY FOUR MILLION. FORTY FOUR MILLION. I repeated that, because the amount of people that that is is staggering to the mind. Simply count to 44. See how long this takes you, counting one every 24 to 48 HOURS, seeing that that is how long the killing of a baby takes. Then multiply that. One million times. THAT is why I march. To PROTECT humanity from this BRUTALITY AND MURDER. These selfish, stupid, misled, evil, heartless people must be stopped. They just must.

Why We March: Emilia

I asked some of the people in my school to tell us why they march, and this one comes from Emilia who's a junior with Mother of Divine Grace

'I march because everyone deserves a chance.  I once wrote a song when I was much younger; here are some of the lyrics.
“He could have had a chance
He could’ve made a change
But you cut him off
Before he could even try”
This song is dedicated to all children who have been aborted, past, present, and future.
So many of these children could’ve been doctors who cured cancer, or missionaries who traveled and brought Jesus to people who had never heard His name.  They could’ve been fathers, mothers, priests, presidents…they could’ve been so many beautiful, honorable things.  But they weren’t given the opportunity.  Because they were 'inconvenient'.  Because they were unwanted.
I march for these babies who don’t have a voice.  I march so that all of them, planned or unplanned, can live and die according to God’s hand.  Not a doctor’s.
I march for the future, a future that loves life and embraces it at every stage.  I march for love, and I march for life.

No, I haven't died.

No, I haven't abandoned this blog.

Yes, I've been super busy with school.

Yes, there will be more activity coming.

Enjoy the tag!

Jem Jones @ Jem Jones, Writer has tagged me in the Writer's Book Tag.

Here are the rules:

1. Shoutout to the blogger who tagged you (check)
2. Use the graphic (checkity check)
3. Tag three people (maybe check?)

And let's just say the people I tag

To the questions!

First Draft: A book or series you’ve never read before

There are millions O_O

But in all due seriousness

(is that possible??)

Shh, Lina

(*whispers*) remember our plan is to make them believe I'm professional

But, for real now, a book that I haven't read but want to is Les Miserables. But first I have to get through Dickens :P

Second Draft: A book or series you didn’t like as much the second time you read it

Um....I would have to say Enna Burning. Even though I still love it, I liked it a lot better the first time. Mostly because it drags on for a while before it gets to the good parts :P BUT IT'S STILL A GREAT BOOK

Final Draft: A book or series you’ve liked for a really long time

Ooh, um, Ella Enchanted, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and the Chronicles of Narnia

Killing Off Your Characters: A book or series that made you cry

So I cried in Anne's House of Dreams when Captain Jim died, and there was this other series that had me bawling like a baby.

I cry very easily during books and movies

Plot Holes: A book or series that disappointed you

Um, the second Percy Jackson series (can't remember the name). The first one is 10000000% better. That's the only one I recommend to my friends :P

Writer’s Block: A book or series you never finished

I never finished Under the Lilacs by Louisa May Alcott, and I didn't finish the second Percy Jackson series (got as far as the House of Hades, that's where it started to get. . . )

Feedback: A book or series you’d recommend to anyone and everyone

THE BOOKS OF BAYERN

These are awesome!!

Hopefully you enjoyed this.

(I never know how to end a post....)
